Citra, FL (January 20, 2025) – A tragic collision involving a train and a passenger vehicle occurred early Sunday morning near Citra, resulting in one fatality, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash took place at approximately 1:55 AM at Northeast 180th St, east of U.S. 301, according to an FHP news release. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office noted a slightly different location, reporting the crash occurred further south at 175th Street Rd. Responding deputies arrived on the scene around 2:30 AM.
