Wallingford, CT (January 19, 2025) – A tragic workplace accident occurred at the Executive Dodge Jeep Ram dealership on South Orchard St, resulting in the death of 34-year-old Thomas Orris. The incident took place on January 10 when Orris, an employee at the dealership, was operating a forklift on a slanted driveway.
According to fire officials, Orris was using the forklift to remove a container from a truck. Partway up the driveway, he stopped the forklift and got out to inspect something. During this time, the forklift began rolling down the slope. Orris attempted to stop the forklift by hand but tragically became pinned between the forklift and the truck.
Emergency responders arrived quickly and administered CPR before transporting Orris to the hospital. Despite their efforts, he succumbed to his injuries. Local authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
