Clark County, MO (January 18, 2025) – A tragic pedestrian accident occurred Friday afternoon on US-136, approximately half a mile west of the Iowa state line. Emergency responders and authorities arrived promptly at the scene to manage the situation.
The collision took place at approximately 3:44 PM when a 2009 Ford Escape, driven by a 75-year-old man from Kahoka, MO, struck a pedestrian in the roadway. The pedestrian, identified as a 60-year-old woman from Keokuk, IA, was fatally injured. The vehicle then traveled off the right side of the road following the impact.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene by Clark County Coroner Edwin Wilson at 4:40 PM. Her body was transported to Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home in Kahoka, MO. The driver of the Ford Escape sustained no reported injuries and was wearing a safety device at the time of the incident. The vehicle suffered moderate damage and was towed from the scene by Brewer & Sons.
Assisting agencies included Msgt Siegfried, Tpr Horrell, MCIU Tpr Borgic, and the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
