Waverly, NE (January 17, 2025) – A tragic construction site accident claimed the life of a 36-year-old Lincoln man on Thursday afternoon, according to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.
Emergency responders, including Waverly Fire and Rescue and Lincoln Fire and Rescue, were dispatched to the scene at approximately 12:27 PM following reports of a medical emergency. Despite life-saving efforts, the man, identified as Elder Divas Carias, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Authorities reported that Divas Carias fell through an unsecured sheet of construction plywood while working at the site north of Waverly. An autopsy has been scheduled, and the incident remains under investigation by local authorities.
