Crashes in Missouri
Collisions involving wildlife are a common hazard on Missouri roads, particularly in rural areas like Jefferson County. According to the Missouri Department of Conservation, deer-related accidents spike during dusk and dawn when wildlife is most active.
Drivers are encouraged to remain vigilant on roads frequented by wildlife. Reducing speed, using high beams when appropriate, and maintaining a safe following distance can help minimize the likelihood of encountering such hazards. If a deer is struck, drivers should avoid swerving to prevent further collisions or loss of vehicle control.
Accidents involving wildlife can cause significant property damage and serious injuries. Seeking guidance from professionals to handle insurance claims and understand rights is essential for those affected.
