Dothan, AL (January 17, 2025) – A man suffered significant burns in a fire at Alabaster Bay Apartments on Thursday afternoon. The fire broke out shortly after 2:00 p.m. in the apartment complex located off U.S. Hwy 231 on East Wayne Rd, near Dothan RV Park.
Dothan Fire Chief Chris Ethridge confirmed that the fire began in the kitchen as a result of an accidental cooking mishap. Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and contained the fire to the kitchen, minimizing damage to the rest of the apartment. The injured individual sustained serious burns to one arm and was transported to a Dothan hospital. Plans are underway to transfer the man to a specialized burn center for further treatment.
