Houston, TX (January 17, 2025) – Three people were hospitalized following a collision involving a fire engine in north Houston on Thursday evening. The crash occurred shortly before 5:30 p.m. near the intersection of North Shepherd Dr and West Little York Rd, according to the Houston Fire Department (HFD).
HFD Engine 67 was involved in the crash with a private vehicle. Brent Taylor, a spokesperson for HFD, reported that the three individuals in the private vehicle sustained injuries and were transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital for treatment. The conditions of the injured individuals were not immediately known.
No firefighters were injured in the collision. An extrication box, commonly used in severe vehicle crashes to rescue occupants, was requested but ultimately not needed in this incident.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances leading to the crash. Motorists in the area experienced temporary delays as responders worked to manage the scene.
