Mechanicsville, MD (January 16, 2025) – A severe motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles occurred Wednesday evening near Big Dogs Paradise at 28765 Three Notch Rd in Mechanicsville. The crash, reported at approximately 6:36 p.m., involved a high-impact T-bone collision in the southbound lanes and resulted in multiple injuries, including one ejection and one unconscious patient.
Chief 2B and units from Mechanicsville Station 2, Station 29, and surrounding emergency teams, including ambulances A296, A297, and PA299, responded to the scene. Crews confirmed that one individual had been ejected from a vehicle while another remained trapped and unconscious. Emergency responders worked urgently to extricate the trapped individual and provide care to all injured parties.
A total of five patients required medical attention. Due to the severity of the injuries, three helicopters were requested to transport victims to regional trauma centers. Helicopters initially landed on the roadway, forcing the closure of Three Notch Rd, but the landing zone was later moved to the Veterans Home area for efficiency.
The crash remains under investigation by local authorities as they work to determine the cause and contributing factors.
