Move Over Law and Highway Safety in Illinois
Illinois’ “Move Over” law, also known as Scott’s Law, requires drivers to slow down and move over when approaching emergency vehicles with activated lights. Failure to comply with this law can result in severe consequences, as seen in incidents like this one.
Highway accidents involving parked emergency vehicles often result in injuries to first responders. Drivers are urged to remain vigilant and adhere to traffic laws to ensure the safety of everyone on the road.
