Norfolk, NE (January 15, 2025) – Two people were injured and taken to the hospital following a multi-vehicle crash Wednesday morning at the intersection of 13th St and Eisenhower Ave. Norfolk Police and rescue personnel responded to the scene shortly after 6 a.m.
The crash began when a southbound 1992 Ford Ranger, driven by a 60-year-old Norfolk man, was slowing to turn west onto Eisenhower Ave. A 2006 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by a 49-year-old Plainview woman, struck the Ranger from behind. The impact forced both vehicles across an adjacent lane and into the southwest ditch, where a 2020 Nissan Titan, driven by a 40-year-old Norfolk man, was also struck.
Both the Ford Ranger and Chevrolet Equinox were totaled. Their drivers, who were the only occupants of their respective vehicles, were transported to Faith Regional Health Services. The extent of their injuries was not immediately known. The driver of the Nissan Titan was uninjured, and the vehicle sustained minor front-end damage.
Traffic was restricted in the area for less than an hour, with all lanes reopened by 7 a.m. The Madison County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the response and investigation. Our thoughts are with those injured as they recover.
