Amarillo, TX (January 15, 2025) – A gray SUV crashed into a house near the intersection of NE 20th and Iris early Tuesday morning, leaving two people injured. The incident occurred in the Eastridge area and prompted a response from the Amarillo Police Department (APD).
According to APD officials, an officer patrolling the neighborhood observed the SUV speeding away for unknown reasons. While searching the area, the officer discovered the SUV had collided with a residence. The driver of the vehicle attempted to flee the scene but was apprehended by the officer shortly afterward.
A passenger was found lying on the ground near the SUV. Both the driver and the passenger sustained serious injuries and were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. The residence sustained significant damage, though no injuries to occupants of the house were reported. APD is investigating the incident to determine the circumstances leading up to the crash.
