Lyndhurst, NJ (January 14, 2025) – A construction worker suffered severe head trauma Tuesday morning after being struck by the bucket of an excavator at an industrial work site in Lyndhurst. The incident occurred at approximately 10:15 a.m. in the 1500 block of Valley Rd during the construction of a new warehouse, according to Lyndhurst Police Detective Lt. Vincent Auteri.
The injured worker, a 56-year-old man from Brick Township, was alert and conscious when emergency services arrived. He was transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson by a Lyndhurst Police Emergency Services ambulance for further medical evaluation and treatment.
Authorities, including a Bergen County Sheriff’s forensics unit and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), responded to the scene to investigate the incident and collect evidence.
