Hemet, CA (January 13, 2025) – Two separate traffic collisions involving multiple vehicles occurred Sunday night at the intersection of Florida Ave and Sanderson Ave, prompting a response from Hemet Fire E3 and TR4 units.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene around 9:48 p.m. to find four vehicles involved in two distinct accidents. One of the crashes involved a black Ford Crown Victoria attempting a U-turn. The driver reportedly did not see an oncoming Hyundai Sonata, possibly due to another vehicle turning into the Ross parking lot. The impact of the collision caused the Hyundai Sonata to crash into the nearby Dea Dialysis building.
The second collision involved a Ford F150 that was stopped at the intersection and struck from behind by a Nissan Sentra. Two individuals sustained injuries in the accidents. One patient from the Hyundai Sonata and another from the Nissan Sentra were transported by AMR units to a local hospital for further medical evaluation and treatment.
Hemet fire crews assessed the scene, providing necessary care to those involved. The extent of the injuries sustained by the victims has not been disclosed. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collisions, including potential contributing factors such as visibility and driver behavior.
Our thoughts are with those injured, and we hope for their full and swift recovery.
Multi-Vehicle Collisions in California
Intersections like Florida Ave and Sanderson Ave in Hemet are common sites for traffic collisions, particularly during evening hours when visibility may be reduced. Multi-vehicle accidents often result in significant injuries, property damage, and complex investigations to determine liability.
Common factors contributing to accidents at intersections include failure to yield, distracted driving, and sudden vehicle maneuvers such as U-turns. When a vehicle impacts a building, as seen in this case, the risk of serious injury and structural damage increases.
For those injured in such collisions, seeking immediate medical attention is essential, even for seemingly minor injuries. Gathering evidence, such as photos of the scene and police reports, can also be crucial in resolving insurance claims or pursuing legal action if necessary.
