Beaumont, TX (January 11, 2025) – A devastating house fire in north Beaumont claimed the life of one person and injured another Friday evening. The fire, reported before 8 p.m. in the 1800 block of Trinidad St near Magnolia, also led to the rescue of a third individual who escaped unharmed, according to Beaumont Fire Chief Earl White.
Firefighters arriving at the scene encountered heavy black smoke pouring from the front door, attic, and other parts of the home. Emergency crews worked swiftly to bring the blaze under control while Beaumont police assisted at the scene.
One person was confirmed dead at the site, while another individual was transported to a hospital for treatment of injuries. Authorities have not yet released the names of the victims. A third person, rescued by police, did not sustain any injuries.
Officials described the scene as tragic and said an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire. A justice of the peace has ordered an autopsy to assist with the investigation into the fatality.
