St. Joe, AR (January 10, 2025) – A fatal head-on collision on US Highway 65 near St. Joe claimed the life of one individual and left another injured. The crash occurred at approximately 5:38 PM in Searcy County.
According to the initial report, a 2005 Hyundai traveling southbound on US 65 crossed the double yellow line and collided head-on with a 2016 Jeep Wrangler traveling northbound. The Hyundai’s driver, identified as 34-year-old Thomas Clay Clark of Harrison, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was taken to Roller Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, AR.
The driver of the Jeep Wrangler, 62-year-old Mary Pollyea of Jasper, sustained injuries and was transported to North Arkansas Regional Medical Center for treatment. No additional injuries were reported.
The weather at the time of the crash was clear, and road conditions were dry. Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the collision.
