Louisville, KY (January 9, 2025) – Two pedestrian accidents occurred hours apart on Dixie Hwy in Shively, resulting in one fatality and another person critically injured. The incidents were reported late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.
The first crash happened near Gagel Ave shortly before 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8. According to the Shively Police Department, the victim, a man in his 60s, suffered fatal injuries. His identity has not yet been released by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.
The second incident occurred around 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 9, at Crums Ln. The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Authorities have not disclosed the individual’s age.
In both cases, the drivers remained on the scene and fully cooperated with Shively Police. Investigators confirmed that no charges are expected to be filed against the drivers. Additionally, authorities stated that snow-covered sidewalks do not appear to be a factor in either crash.
