Chicopee, MA (January 9, 2024) – A rollover crash on I-90 westbound near mile marker 47.2 caused temporary lane closures and resulted in serious injuries to the vehicle’s occupants. The incident occurred around 4:18 p.m. on Thursday.
Massachusetts State Police reported that both the driver and passenger were ejected from the vehicle during the crash. They were transported to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield for treatment. Their conditions have not been disclosed at this time.
State troopers were assisted at the scene by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation and Chicopee Emergency Medical Services. Both the left and right lanes of I-90 westbound were temporarily closed but have since been reopened to traffic.
The crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the cause.
