St. Louis, MO (January 8, 2025) – A two-vehicle collision occurred on Interstate 270 westbound, west of West Florissant Ave, late Tuesday morning. The crash left one driver injured and caused significant damage to one vehicle.
According to reports, the crash took place at approximately 11:25 a.m. when a 2016 Jeep Wrangler, driven by a 34-year-old woman from St. Louis, was traveling in front of a 2023 Toyota Camry, driven by a 25-year-old man, also from St. Louis. Both vehicles were heading westbound in lane four when the accident occurred.
The Jeep Wrangler reportedly drove too fast for the snowy road conditions, causing the vehicle to slide and spin to the right. The Toyota Camry, which was following at an unsafe distance, was unable to stop in time. The driver of the Camry attempted to avoid the Jeep by moving to the left but struck the rear right of the Jeep in passing.
The Jeep sustained minor damage and was driven away from the scene, while the Toyota Camry was totaled and required towing by A2B Towing. Emergency responders transported the Jeep’s driver, who sustained moderate injuries, to SSM Health DePaul Hospital for treatment. The driver of the Toyota was not reported injured.
The incident is under investigation by TPR. C.A. Gates (324), with authorities reminding drivers to adjust their speed and following distance in inclement weather.
