Lawrence County, AL (January 5, 2025) – A tragic two-vehicle collision claimed the lives of two individuals on Highway 157 near Highway 36 in Lawrence County on Friday morning. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) responded to the scene of the fatal crash, which occurred at approximately 9:45 AM.
Authorities identified the victims as Tammy W. Sawyer, 55, of Trinity, and Jimmie R. Bailey, 71, of Bremen. According to ALEA, their vehicle was struck by another car, causing it to veer off the roadway and collide with a utility pole. Both occupants were pronounced dead at the scene.
