Arlington, TX (January 4, 2025) – A tragic auto-pedestrian collision at the intersection of Matlock Rd and Turner Warnell Rd on Friday morning claimed the life of a 53-year-old woman. The Arlington Police Department is investigating the incident.
Emergency responders, including Arlington Fire, Police, and EMS, were dispatched to the scene at approximately 6:21 a.m. to investigate a reported two-vehicle collision. While en route, 911 Dispatch was informed that one of the drivers involved in the initial crash had exited her vehicle and was struck by another passing vehicle.
Upon arrival, officers found the 53-year-old woman lying unresponsive on the roadway. She was transported to a local hospital but was later pronounced deceased from her injuries.
Investigators determined that the woman was driving northbound on Matlock Rd when another driver traveling southbound attempted to make a left turn onto Turner Warnell Rd, resulting in a collision. The woman exited her vehicle to check on the other driver and exchange insurance information. Tragically, while crossing the intersection, she was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound on Matlock Rd.
The driver of the striking vehicle immediately stopped, remained at the scene, and cooperated with law enforcement. The investigation is ongoing.
