Naples Manor, FL (January 3, 2025) – A hit-and-run crash left two women seriously injured Wednesday morning on Texas Ave in Collier County. The incident occurred at approximately 8:10 a.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
Authorities reported that a sedan veered off the roadway and struck a 47-year-old woman and a 65-year-old woman who were walking on the sidewalk. Both victims sustained serious injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Anyone with information about the hit-and-run driver is urged to contact FHP or local authorities.
Our thoughts are with the injured women as they recover, and we hope for swift justice in this case.
Hit-and-Run Crashes in Florida
Hit-and-run incidents are a growing concern across Florida, with pedestrians often bearing the brunt of these reckless acts. In cases like this, victims are left vulnerable, and finding the perpetrator can be challenging for law enforcement.
Pedestrians are at high risk of severe injuries in these incidents, given their lack of protection against vehicles. Drivers who leave the scene not only abandon their legal responsibilities but also delay crucial assistance to the injured, potentially worsening their outcomes.
Florida law mandates that drivers involved in accidents remain on the scene and provide aid or information as necessary. Fleeing the scene is a criminal offense, punishable by severe penalties, including imprisonment and fines.
Community cooperation plays a vital role in resolving hit-and-run cases. Reporting suspicious vehicles or providing witness accounts can significantly aid law enforcement efforts.
