Fairfield, CA (January 3, 2025) – A fatal accident involving a pedestrian and a silver Ford van occurred Wednesday evening on Abernathy Rd at Piazza in Fairfield. Emergency responders were called to the scene following reports of a collision at approximately 5:48 PM.
Emergency personnel, including medics and fire crews, arrived swiftly and began life-saving measures, including CPR. Despite their efforts, the pedestrian was pronounced deceased at 6:04 PM by medical authorities. The Solano County Sheriff’s Office was notified to coordinate with the coroner and chaplain for further proceedings.
Abernathy Rd was closed in both directions during the investigation, causing traffic disruptions until it was reopened at approximately 7:52 PM. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is leading the investigation to determine the cause of this tragic incident. The identity of the pedestrian has not yet been released pending family notification.
