Charleston County, SC (January 2, 2025) – A wrong-way crash on Highway 17 near Sampson Rd sent two people to the hospital overnight. Deputies from the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene following reports of the collision.
According to Sgt. Charles Sebban, the crash occurred when a car traveling against traffic sideswiped another vehicle, causing the second vehicle to roll over. Both drivers sustained injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment.
The incident caused temporary road closures on Highway 17, which reopened approximately two hours later as crews cleared the scene.
