Largo, FL (December 30, 2024) – A serious collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on a mobility scooter occurred on Saturday evening near N Missouri Ave and 4th Ave NW, leaving the pedestrian with life-threatening injuries.
At approximately 8:03 PM, the Largo Police Department’s Traffic Homicide Unit responded to the crash. A 2011 Buick Regal was traveling southbound on Missouri Ave with a green light at the intersection of 4th Ave NW when it struck a pedestrian crossing eastward outside the designated crosswalk. Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene, providing care to the injured individual before transporting them to a local trauma center for further treatment.
The driver of the Buick remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. According to reports, the driver showed no signs of impairment and was unharmed in the collision. Both the vehicle and the mobility scooter were secured as part of the ongoing investigation.
Traffic on the southbound lanes of Missouri Ave was temporarily diverted while investigators worked at the scene. The lanes were reopened around midnight, restoring normal traffic flow.
