Imperial County, CA (December 28, 2024) – A three-vehicle collision occurred on I-8 E just west of Imperial Hwy late Friday night, resulting in multiple injuries and temporary traffic diversions. The crash, reported at approximately 9:55 PM, left three individuals injured, including one experiencing head and neck pain.
Emergency responders, including the California Highway Patrol (CHP), U.S. Border Patrol (USBP), and Imperial County Fire Department (ICFD), arrived to assist at the scene. All three vehicles involved blocked the roadway, prompting efforts to redirect eastbound traffic via the Ocotillo exit and temporarily closing the onramp to allow air units to land for medical assistance.
Tow services from Clancy’s Towing were dispatched to remove the damaged vehicles. Responders worked through the evening to clear the scene and reopen the lanes, which were confirmed fully operational shortly before midnight. The exact cause of the collision remains under investigation.
