The collision involved a late-model Chevrolet Traverse and a red pickup truck, which reportedly caught fire after the crash.
The incident was first reported at 8:39 AM. Both vehicles sustained severe damage, with the red pickup truck becoming engulfed in flames shortly after the collision. The crash caused all lanes to be blocked, necessitating a hard closure of SR-38 at Bryant and Greenspot Rd. Emergency crews, including California Highway Patrol (CHP) and San Bernardino County Fire, quickly responded to the scene.
Tragically, at least one individual was pronounced deceased at the scene, with the coroner notified shortly after 9:04 AM.
