Lee’s Summit, MO (December 27, 2024) – An accident involving two vehicles resulted in injuries on I-470, just east of View High Dr, on Thursday afternoon. Emergency responders, including Lee’s Summit Fire and Rescue, promptly attended the scene at approximately 4:25 PM.
The crash involved a 2020 Chevrolet driven by a 28-year-old woman from Lee’s Summit, MO, and a 2003 Acura operated by a 33-year-old woman from Overland Park, KS. According to reports, the Chevrolet sustained extensive damage, while the Acura was totaled.
Preliminary findings suggest that the driver of the Acura lost control of the vehicle, which veered off the roadway, crossed an exit ramp, and collided with the Chevrolet. The 28-year-old Chevrolet driver sustained injuries and was transported by Lee’s Summit Fire to Centerpoint Medical Center. A 3-year-old juvenile passenger in the Chevrolet also suffered injuries and was taken to Children’s Mercy Hospital by a private vehicle. The Acura driver refused treatment at the scene.
