West Haven, CT (December 27, 2024) – A working fire broke out early Friday morning at the Savin Rock Plaza, located at 265 Captain Thomas Blvd in West Haven. The West Haven Fire Department (WHFD) responded to the blaze at approximately 5:45 a.m.
Officials reported heavy smoke emanating from the roof of the second-floor apartments. The fire caused significant water damage due to the building’s sprinkler system activation. One male resident was transported to a nearby hospital by AMR for medical evaluation, though his condition has not been released.
Fire crews worked quickly to extinguish the fire and mitigate further damage to the property. Authorities have not yet disclosed the cause of the fire, and investigations are underway to determine how it started.
