Boston, MA (December 26, 2024) – An Everett woman was arrested on Christmas Day after reportedly driving into a Boston Police officer working a traffic detail near TD Garden. The incident occurred around 8:02 p.m. on Beverly St at Valenti Way following a Celtics game, according to a police report.
The officer, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries, was struck by a black Audi sedan. The impact was severe enough to leave an imprint of the officer’s body in the rock salt residue on the car, police noted. Emergency responders transported the injured officer to a local hospital for treatment.
The driver, identified as 28-year-old Jeanette Valle of Everett, fled the scene, driving the wrong way on Beverly St toward Causeway St, police said. Valle continued her erratic escape by turning the wrong way onto Canal St, a one-way road. Officers eventually located her at a red light on North Washington St off Causeway.
When approached, Valle refused to comply with officers’ commands to stop her vehicle and instead sped away again, turning onto Commercial St. Police pursued her at a safe distance to ensure the safety of other drivers. The chase ended at the intersection of Surface Rd and Milk St when Valle struck a curb, popping both tires on the passenger side of her vehicle.
Valle was taken into custody without further incident. The charges against her have not yet been publicly disclosed, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Our thoughts are with those affected by this crash, and we wish for their swift recovery.
