Collins, MO (December 26, 2024) – A vehicle crash on US Highway 54, two miles east of Collins, left two individuals with moderate injuries on Christmas Day. The accident occurred around 3:04 PM and involved a 2018 Ford Explorer.
According to authorities, the vehicle was traveling westbound when it veered off the right side of the road. The car struck a ditch, became airborne, hit a mailbox and an electrical box, overturned, and finally collided with a gate. The force of the crash totaled the Ford Explorer, which was later towed from the scene by Mike’s Wrecker of Collins, MO.
The 19-year-old female driver from Pleasant Hill, MO, sustained moderate injuries and was transported by Citizens Memorial Hospital Ambulance to Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar, MO. A 21-year-old male passenger from Wheatland, MO, also suffered moderate injuries and was transported to the same hospital for treatment.
