Bald Knob, AR (December 26, 2024) – A tragic pedestrian accident occurred on U.S. Highway 167 in Bald Knob, claiming the life of a 60-year-old man. The incident took place around 6:23 p.m. near the 232 block of US Highway 167.
The White County Sheriff’s Office identified the deceased as David Neil Jones, a resident of Bald Knob. According to the initial investigation, Jones was walking northbound along the fog line of the highway when he was struck by a 2017 Buick Enclave traveling in the same direction. Emergency responders arrived promptly, but Jones succumbed to his injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene and his body was taken to Powell Funeral Home.
No injuries to the driver of the Buick Enclave were reported. Authorities noted that weather conditions were clear and the roadway was dry at the time of the collision. The incident remains under investigation as officials work to determine the circumstances leading up to the crash.
