Kunia, HI (December 24, 2024) – A tragic motor vehicle accident on Kunia Rd resulted in the death of a motorcyclist, marking Oahu’s 50th traffic fatality of 2024. The incident occurred shortly before 9:00 AM on Sunday, December 22.
According to Honolulu Police, an unidentified driver traveling southbound on Kunia Rd struck the motorcyclist, causing him to veer off the roadway and into the grassy shoulder. The motorcyclist ultimately collided with a telephone pole due to the impact. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop to render aid or provide information, leaving the scene of the accident.
Emergency responders, including paramedics, arrived at the scene at 8:52 AM and pronounced the motorcyclist deceased. His identity has not yet been released as authorities work to notify their next of kin.
Honolulu Police continue to investigate the crash and search for the driver involved in this hit-and-run incident.
