Saint Joseph Twp., MN (December 24, 2024) – An injury accident involving two vehicles occurred on northbound MN Hwy 23 near milepost 199 early Tuesday morning. The crash, reported at approximately 6:00 AM, involved a 2023 Toyota Tacoma and a 2017 GMC Acadia.
The Minnesota State Patrol, Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, Waite Park Police Department, Rockville Fire Department, and Mayo Ambulance responded to the scene. Preliminary reports indicate that both vehicles were traveling northbound when they collided near the milepost.
The GMC Acadia, driven by 48-year-old Jason Michael Elmore of Hawick, MN, deployed its airbags during the collision. Both Elmore and his passenger, 33-year-old Maria Guadalupe Elmore, also of Hawick, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment. The Toyota Tacoma, driven by 23-year-old Lue Her of St. Paul, MN, did not deploy its airbags. Her and his passengers—22-year-old Lang Her and 29-year-old Ze Her—were uninjured in the crash.
All individuals involved were reported to be wearing seat belts, and no alcohol was involved in the incident. The accident caused temporary traffic delays while responders worked to assist the injured and clear the roadway.
