Birch Run Township, MI (December 24, 2024) – A tragic accident claimed the life of a 16-year-old from Flushing on Monday afternoon, December 23, according to Michigan State Police. The fatal crash occurred after 2 p.m. on Dixie Highway near Williard Rd.
Authorities reported that the teenager was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Impala southbound on Dixie Highway when he lost control of the vehicle. The car crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a 2021 Jeep driven by a 48-year-old Flint woman.
The driver of the Jeep was unharmed, but the teenage driver of the Impala was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers from the Tri-City Post are investigating the crash and have indicated that alcohol is not suspected as a factor.
