Phoenix, AZ (December 24, 2024) – A multi-vehicle crash involving five vehicles occurred on December 23, causing significant disruptions and injuries on Grand Ave near 40th Ave. The incident resulted in part of Grand Ave being closed for several hours as emergency crews worked at the scene.
When officers arrived, they discovered one of the vehicles was on fire. Emergency responders promptly extinguished the flames and assessed the situation. According to Phoenix Police Sgt. Rob Scherer, three adults were transported to nearby hospitals. Two individuals sustained non-life-threatening injuries, while one adult suffered life-threatening injuries and is currently under critical care.
The events leading up to the crash remain unclear, and Phoenix Police are conducting an ongoing investigation to determine the cause. No identities have been released at this time. Our thoughts are with all those injured, and we hope for their speedy recovery.
