Stockertown, PA (December 23, 2024) – A serious head-on collision along Route 33 in Stockertown left two drivers with significant injuries Sunday morning. The crash occurred just after 7:00 AM at mile marker 9.7, according to Pennsylvania State Police in Belfast.
Authorities reported that the driver of an SUV was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes when he collided head-on with another SUV. Both drivers, a man and a 39-year-old woman, sustained serious injuries and were transported to St. Luke’s Hospital-Anderson in Bethlehem Township for treatment. Their conditions were not immediately available as of Monday morning.
It is unclear why the man was driving in the wrong direction. Pennsylvania State Police continue to investigate the crash and are seeking witnesses who may have information about the incident. Traffic in the area was impacted as emergency crews managed the scene.
