Firefighters arrived at the 800 block of West Blvd to find a fire in the kitchen of an apartment. The blaze was quickly extinguished and contained to the unit of origin. During their efforts, firefighters rescued one individual from the apartment. The victim received treatment on-site and was transported to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, fire officials have confirmed that the individual, identified as an adult male, succumbed to his injuries. His name has not yet been released.
