Pickaway County, OH (December 22, 2024) – A crash on OH-762, just east of Sharp Road and near the corrections center in the former Village of Orient, resulted in injuries to the driver of a Toyota SUV on Sunday afternoon. Authorities reported that the crash occurred at approximately 3:55 PM.
A female driver in an eastbound Toyota SUV came to a complete stop on OH-762 for reasons still under investigation. An eastbound GMC pickup truck, driven by a male, was unable to stop in time and collided with the rear of the SUV. The impact caused injuries to the Toyota driver, who was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Responders at the scene included the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Department, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Scioto Township Fire-Rescue, EMS, and Jackson Township Fire-Rescue and EMS. The GMC driver was not reported injured.
Authorities are investigating the reason the Toyota SUV came to a stop in the roadway and have not released additional details.
