Columbus, OH (December 22, 2024) – A devastating crash on the city’s south side early Sunday morning claimed the lives of two individuals and critically injured a third, according to the Columbus Division of Police. The incident occurred around 4:15 AM in the 100 block of Williams Road, near South High Street.
Police report that a Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling eastbound on Williams Road at a high rate of speed when it struck a utility pole near the South 6th Street intersection. The vehicle then veered into the yards of nearby homes before colliding with a tree, causing all three occupants to be ejected.
Two adults were pronounced dead at the scene. The third occupant, also an adult, was rushed to Grant Medical Center in critical condition. The names of those involved have not yet been released.
