Macon, GA (December 20, 2024) – A tragic hit-and-run incident claimed the life of a pedestrian on Pio Nono Ave late on Wednesday night. Deputies from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call reporting “a person down” near the Rose’s shopping center around 10:30 PM.
Upon arrival, officers discovered 30-year-old Daralynn Erlease Jones, who had been fatally struck by an unknown vehicle. Jones was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have confirmed that her remains will be taken to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab for an autopsy as part of the ongoing investigation.
