Monticello Twp, MN (December 20, 2024) – A two-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Hwy 25 and Davidson Ave NE around 5:53 PM on Thursday, resulting in injuries to several individuals. Emergency responders, including the Wright County Sheriff’s Office and the Monticello Fire Department, were dispatched to the scene.
The crash involved a northbound 2009 Saturn Outlook and a southbound 2005 Chevrolet Silverado, which collided at the intersection. The Chevrolet’s driver, 55-year-old Fomba Saah Konjan of Minneapolis, and passenger, 54-year-old Frank Steven Granados of New Hope, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Monticello Hospital for treatment. The Saturn’s driver, 26-year-old Daniel Scott Shipley of Buffalo, was uninjured. A passenger in the Saturn, 23-year-old Katelyn Giselle Mendez of Buffalo, sustained non-life-threatening injuries but declined transport to a medical facility.
Airbags were deployed in both vehicles, and all occupants were reported to have been wearing seat belts. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash. Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.
