North Liberty, IA (December 20, 2024) – A serious accident involving a pedestrian occurred Tuesday evening on the 2100 block of Highway 965 in North Liberty. The crash, reported at approximately 8:35 p.m., left one individual with life-threatening injuries.
According to Iowa State Patrol, an 82-year-old driver, Donald Farley of North Liberty, was operating a 2017 Nissan Frontier traveling southbound on Highway 965 when a pedestrian, identified as 42-year-old Donovan Crouchet of Center Point, attempted to cross the highway westbound. The pedestrian was struck by the vehicle and sustained critical injuries.
Johnson County EMS transported the injured pedestrian to the University of Iowa Hospital for urgent care. The extent of the injuries and the current condition of the pedestrian have not been disclosed. The vehicle involved in the incident was towed by Holiday Towing.
The crash remains under investigation by law enforcement, with assistance from Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and EMS.
