Cayce, SC (December 19, 2024) – A crash on Charleston Highway Wednesday evening resulted in two pedestrians being injured. The incident occurred around the 2400 block of Charleston Highway in the direction of Interstate 26.
The Cayce Police Department reported that two vehicles were involved in an initial collision, prompting one individual from each vehicle to exit and inspect the damage. Tragically, a third vehicle traveling on the highway failed to see the pedestrians and struck them on the side of the road.
Traffic in the area was significantly affected, with backups reported on US-321 from North Eden Dr to Old Dunbar Rd as of 7 p.m. Emergency responders arrived to provide care to the injured pedestrians, who were transported to nearby medical facilities for further treatment. Their current conditions have not been disclosed. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
