Greene County, MO (December 19, 2024) – A three-vehicle collision on Highway H, approximately 5 miles north of Springfield, resulted in injuries late Wednesday morning. The crash occurred at 11:48 AM and involved a 2009 Ford F750, a 2013 Ford Escape, and a 2022 Chevrolet 2500.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene to provide assistance to the injured individuals. A 26-year-old male driver and a 27-year-old male occupant of the Ford F750 sustained minor injuries and were transported by ambulance to Cox South in Springfield. The 65-year-old male driver of the Chevrolet 2500 also sustained injuries and was transported by private vehicle to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. The 61-year-old female driver of the Ford Escape, although shaken, did not require immediate transportation for injuries.

According to the investigation, the collision occurred when the Ford Escape (Vehicle 1) struck the rear of the Chevrolet 2500 (Vehicle 2), causing the Chevrolet to collide with the rear of the Ford F750 (Vehicle 3). The accident caused temporary disruptions along Highway H as crews worked to clear the scene. Investigators continue to review the circumstances of the crash to determine if any further actions are warranted. Our thoughts are with those recovering from this incident.

Multi-Vehicle Accidents in Missouri

Missouri highways are often the site of multi-vehicle accidents, with rear-end collisions being a frequent occurrence. These crashes can lead to significant property damage and injuries, as seen in this incident on Highway H near Springfield.

Drivers are reminded to maintain safe following distances and remain attentive to traffic patterns to minimize the risk of chain-reaction accidents. Factors such as sudden stops, distracted driving, or adverse road conditions can increase the likelihood of such collisions.

Victims of multi-vehicle accidents should promptly seek medical attention, even for minor injuries, as symptoms may develop or worsen over time. Documentation of the crash and immediate engagement with insurance providers or legal counsel is also essential for addressing damages and ensuring fair treatment.
