Hull, IA (December 19, 2024) – Two people sustained injuries in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 18, one mile west of Hull, on Tuesday evening. The accident occurred around 6:05 p.m., according to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities reported that 29-year-old Byron Lopez, of George, was driving east in a 2007 Ford F-150 pickup when he lost control of the vehicle. The truck veered into the oncoming lane and collided with a westbound 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by 67-year-old Loran John Weiler, of Le Mars.
Emergency responders, including the Hull and Sioux Center ambulance services, transported both drivers to Sioux Center Health for medical treatment. The extent of their injuries has not been disclosed, and there are no updates on their current conditions.
Officials are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash to determine what caused Lopez to lose control of his vehicle.
