Authorities identified the victim as Kevin Saurez-Rodriguez, who was struck by a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado while walking in the westbound lane of the roadway. The vehicle was driven by a 21-year-old man, whose identity has not been released. EMS responded promptly, but Saurez-Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of his injuries.
Preliminary investigations by Lorain Police indicate that speed, alcohol, or drugs were not factors in the collision. However, rain was reported as a contributing weather condition, which may have impacted visibility or road conditions at the time of the crash.
