Broward County, FL (December 18, 2024) – A pedestrian was tragically killed early this morning on U.S. 441/State Road 7 near Loxahatchee Road, just south of the Palm Beach County line and close to West Boca Raton. The incident occurred at approximately 6:18 a.m.
According to the Coconut Creek Police Department, the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the northbound lanes of U.S. 441/SR 7. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not released identifying information about the pedestrian or details regarding the type of vehicle involved.
The northbound lanes of U.S. 441/SR 7 are closed as traffic homicide investigators work to gather evidence and determine the circumstances of the crash. Southbound traffic in the area is also experiencing significant delays due to the closure and investigation.
