Straban Twp, PA (December 16, 2024) – A house fire in Straban Township, Adams County, early this morning sent one resident to the hospital, according to emergency dispatch reports. The fire broke out at 6:44 AM at a home located in the 2500 block of York Road/Route 30.

The Gettysburg Fire Department responded quickly to the scene, and Assistant Chief reports that the fire originated on the first floor of the house, causing significant damage. Despite the extensive damage, the resident who was taken to the hospital has since been released after receiving treatment for their injuries. Two people and one dog were residing at the home at the time of the fire.

York Road/Route 30 was shut down between Granite Station Road and Low Dutch Road to allow fire crews to battle the blaze. Emergency services worked diligently to contain the fire and ensure the safety of the remaining occupants. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by local authorities.
