Riverside, CA (December 16, 2024) – A fatal collision occurred on eastbound I-10 at the Riverside Ave off-ramp in Riverside late Friday evening. The crash, reported at approximately 5:01 PM, resulted in the death of at least one individual and caused significant traffic disruptions in the area.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the vehicle involved in the crash went off the roadway, over a cliff, and onto its side. The crash led to a vehicle fire, which was reported by responders, with the vehicle reportedly smoking and catching fire. Despite the efforts of first responders, including the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, fire crews, and EMS, the driver was confirmed deceased at the scene.
The Riverside Police Department is conducting an investigation into the cause of the collision.
