Authorities say the incident happened when a Subaru, driven by a 16-year-old girl, attempted to exit the Family Fare parking lot to head south on 96th Ave. The driver reportedly believed the roadway was clear but collided with a Toyota traveling north on 96th Ave. The impact caused significant damage to both vehicles.
Emergency responders arrived promptly, and both the driver of the Subaru and her passenger, a 15-year-old girl, were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries described as non-life-threatening. The driver of the Subaru was cited for failure to yield, as stated in the official release from investigators.
